That third afternoon she spent a great deal of time in the box. The fourth day she spent a lot more time in the box and she didn鈥檛 lay another egg and so I assumed we had a clutch of three and she had begun incubation.On the fifth day (May 16) she laid a fourth egg sometime early in the afternoon and since then she has spent a lot more time on the nest than off. Average incubation period is 13 days,biyer, so starting May 27 I鈥檒l be vigilant about having a time-lapse camera in place to catch the hatch.I鈥檝e got my eye on one egg in particular. The first egg laid has a white scratch or line of some kind on it. I鈥檝e included a photo with this posting that conveniently has a blade of grass pointing right at the mark.If during hatching the mark is visible it will be interesting to see if the first egg laid is the first to hatch. The female changes positions and rolls the eggs around into different configurations so the odds are slim,keado, but it will be interesting to see.
